The Ultimate Guide to Standout Shows: How to Bring the Post-Show Wow

The stream has ended, the chat has cleared out; you shut your laptop and breathe a sigh of relief. Your show was a success and has officially concluded. Amazing! But is it over? Technically, yes. But there’s a period of time post-show where you can still drive a ton of impact and keep the convo around your content going… and it doesn’t have to be dull.

In this final post of our guide to creating standout shows, we’ll outline exactly how to bring the post-show wow to keep your audience engaged and interested for your next big moment event.

1. Say Thanks

After the event, show your appreciation with a thank you email to your guests. Even if you expressed gratitude during the actual show, having this solidified in an email builds a stronger connection, especially if you hope to produce future shows that your audience will want to tune-in for. Starting this line of communication might also provide some valuable feedback, as well.

Brandlive offers asynchronous and on-demand viewing, perfect for attendees who were unable to catch the live show or want to rewatch their favorite session.

2. Offer On-Demand Content

These days, it’s non-negotiable to offer asynchronous viewing. While many folks will attend live, some won’t be able to make it because of timezone differences or unexpected changes in their schedules (hey, that’s life in these hybrid workplace days). Many will also want to rewatch certain segments as well, so it’s smart to plan in advance for having these options available.

3. Follow-Up With Attendees

Within an appropriate time frame – say, a week or so after – be sure to follow-up with additional content that’s of value and interest to your audience, and that builds on the topics explored in your show.

Not sure what kind of content to create? Cruise through the chat feed to get a pulse on the audience. If you see any interesting questions or comments, address them in an email, on social media, in your podcast or on your blog – wherever your audience is to continue the conversation. You can also create a post-show highlight reel or trailer (to really entice on-demand watching) to keep the energy high for those who attended and encourage more viewers to tune-in after the fact.

Create Exciting Shows Everytime

The process of creating a standout show will look different for every unique show you produce, and every time you produce. What’s key here is that you take time afterwards to reflect on what worked and what didn’t, and adjust accordingly for the next.

As you approach all of your future shows, continue to stay aware of what your audience responds to, and give yourself permission to experiment and play around to keep honing in your content. Keep pushing the envelope on evoking emotion through the stories you tell, so your message sticks and your brand becomes (and stays) memorable

Bringing the magic of television to your town halls, customer summits, product launches and more is just one more way to increase the value of your brand – and, who knows, you might even have some fun while doing it.
